Saint Finbarr of Cork

Today is marked the feast of Saint Finbar: a wonder-worker, consecrated by God Himself, Bishop of Cork and founder of a great centre of learning on what is not Cork City – the saying “Ionad Bairre Sgoil na Mumhan: Where Finbarr taught let Munster learn” is the motto of the University College, Cork.
