I have been thinking about many and various things, most of which are depressing, intractable and outside my power to influence.
Today I read this by Father Ed Tomlinson of the Ordinariate in England and Wales. In a post about the legacy of clerical abuse within the Church, he says this – and it shines like a light:
“A witness to love and fidelity to Catholic teaching in your own family is of great importance. It could be the most precious gift and corrective we can now offer a damaged world from a damaged church. For whilst we cannot undo what has been done we can point to something better- the authentic face of Christ in the family- the witness of loving homes, the joy of Catholic families and the love we show to others.”
