We have missed Saint Agnes’ Eve, on which it is possible to espy one’s future husband. Sorry about that. Here is the rhyme for use next year, if God spares us…

“ Agnes sweet, and Agnes fair,
Hither, hither, now repair;
Bonny Agnes, let me see
The lad who is to marry me. ”
