Raindrops on Roses….

Je suis comme le roi d’un pays pluvieux,

Riche, mais impuissant, jeune et pourtant tres vieux.

The weather has turned, it is raining, everyone is grumpy, including me.

There is not a great deal of art which uses rain as a subject, funnily enough. Oh, of course, there’s this:

We should cheer up, I suppose. For, as the Lord said, God causeth the rain to fall on the righteous and the wicked….and I am not quite sure which I am.

April Rain Song

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sdelaireidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

Langston Hughes
