The Lily of the Mohawks, the first Native American saint, a devout Catholic, a miracle-worker.  This portrait is attributed to the Jesuit missionary Père Claude Chauchetière S.J. and is dated 10 years after her death in 1680. Father Chauchetière was known as a painter, a mystic and chronicler of his Mission.
