Calling Down Fire – The Son of Thunder

Today is the feast of Saint James the Greater – the son of Zebedee, a fisherman, the first martyr among the apostles, patron saint of Spain, buried, according to legend, at Compostela.

In some of the images of Saint James painted by the masters, he is depicted as mature, somewhat fierce, exceptionally strong, a man who has seen and endured much, a man who is utterly real.
